Trying to stock my box of occassion cards so I'm not scrambling at the last minute. Here's a few of what I've done recently.

Photoshop class homework

I've been doing an online photoshop class with Kim Klassen http://www.kimklassencafe.com/
I'm really enjoying the classes.  These are some of my homework pictures. I'm learning about layers and textures among other things. Kim is an excellent teacher. Her directions are very clear so I'd definitely recommend taking a class from her.

Member of the Gothamettes Design Team

I'm excited to be a member of the Gothamettes Design Team, http://gothamcitystampers.com/

Using the sketch by Heidi's husband Marty as inspiration I created a realistic card with a folded 8 1/2x5 1/2 piece of light blue Stampin' Up cardstock. The beaches were torn from beige cardstock from Michaels, embellished with real sand and edged with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink by Ranger. The beach chair and it's "sand", and three shells are from Jolee's Boutique with added real sand. Flipflops and starfish are Citronella. Ocean water was created with daubers, Tim's Broken china Distress Ink and Stampabilities White Pigment Ink. The sun, seagull, sailboat and girl are Susan Branch Seashore Sticker pack. Butterfly is Studio 112. I cut the clouds freehand from white cardstock and textured it using Frosted Lace Stickles. The card ws edged in Tim's Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Adhesives used are Aleene's Tacky Glue, Scotch Quick Dry Glue and a Stampin' Up taperunner.

The scrapbook page was made using colors inspired by Marty's sketch.  The yellow/orange paper from Memories Forever-Scrapbooking, light blue Creative Memories-Photo Mounting and navy blue paper from Michaels. I used the Creative Memories Borderlines to make the scalloped edges on the light blue papers. The water drops are Raindrops by Cloud 9 Design. Butterflies were made with the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch and embellished with Stampin' Up Hologram Embossing Powder. I stamped the shells from the Stampin' Up Beautiful Beach set with Archival Ink Sepia on light tan Creative Memories paper and colored them with Derwent Inktense Watersoluble Ink Pencils. Adhesives are Scotch taperunner and Quick Dry Glue and Stampin' Up taperunner. I edged the page with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink by Ranger. The photos are of my first grandchild taken in March of 1997 when she was 16 months old.

Gift for daughter

This is a mini book I made for one of my daughter's. It's created from Olive Garden coasters that were given to me by my daughter-in-law. I used Bo-Bunny papers, doilies and glitz. She can add her own photos and journaling.

Missing card

This card was made for a friend's birthday but I never got to give it to her. It went missing along with the beaded scissors fob I made for her present. Some day it'll turn up.

Journal Page

This journal page was inspired by a page I saw Rach0113 doing recently on a ustream. It has layers of paints and gesso, pictures, rubber stamps and hand lettering. I learned a lot working on this page.

This is my first steampunk ATC and I really like how it turned out. The background was done with collage and acrylic paint then I added the lace, bling and TH gears. I used caulking on the edge which I painted with black and gold. I really enjoyed making this card. I made two similar cards and the other was sent to one of my mentors Dede, http://inkiwell.blogspot.com/
